Firefox won't remember password after changing it.
Hi,
My university recently required me to change my log in password for their website. After changing it, Firefox did not remember the new password (This was using version 3.6.1 or the latest release before 4.0 came out). I've checked that private browsing isn't on and it is set to remember passwords. I've just registered as a user here and firefox has asked to remember my user name and password.
To try to fix it, I went into the saved passwords for the uni site and deleted the old password and it still won't ask to remember the new one.
I recently upgraded to 4.0 and again, it won't ask to remember it.
I'm currently running windows vista SP2 on a 2008 Macbook Pro, running in bootcamp. When running in Mac OSX 10.6, it works just fine, and asked to remember the new password immediately.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does Usernames and passwords are not saved help?
You may wish to also check the Tools > Options > Security panel, "remember passwords for sites" should be ticked.
Yes, it is checked, and it does work, as mention, it asked to remember, and did remember, a new username and password for this website, yet still will not remember for my uni website.
I am surprised no one has answered this yet. I just had the same problem, and it turns out that someone else had used my computer to log into a couple of the same sites, and when they were prompted whether or not to save the password they had chosen "Never for this site". The only way I knew this is by going to Edit -> Preferences -> Security, and to the right of the "Remember passwords for sites" checkbox, clicking on the Exceptions button. This then showed me two sites that even though I had initially said to save the passwords for would now not update to new passwords because someone else had overridden it. I deleted both of them, went back to the sites, re-logged in with the new password, and was then prompted to change the saved one.
I hope this helps.
