For a while now, Firefox has been randomly signing me out of certain websites. The ones most commonly (or at least noticed) affected are Facebook, LinkedIn, and a site I visit called Two Peas in a Bucket. It happens on both my desktop and my laptop, so it doesn't appear to be just related to one machine. Sometimes it happens when I close FF, but just now, it happened after I closed just a tab. I've cleared my cache, deleted the cookies for those sites, but nothing seems to help. It's been going since before I upgraded to the latest version of FF as well, so I don't think it's just this version that's having a problem. I've tried searching for a solution online and here, but can't find anything. It's quite frustrating... Any ideas?

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Thanks for the reply. I've added the cookie exceptions (the other settings I already had right), and I'm hoping that fixes it!  :)

Hmmm... It didn't work.  :( Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Did you check whether Firefox is keeping those cookies ?
If cookies get lost then you are no longer remembered and you need to log in again.
If the cookies are still there then they may have been corrupted or expired (check the date and time on the computer).

I am desperate and I've just answered on the other topic. I still have the same problem even when I've tried every possible option on support mozilla site.

This randomly logs are what I don't understand. In the middle of the session ( I don't even need to close the firefox ), firefox logging me off some sites ( he always decide which one, LOL ), and on some I am logged. In the next session of opening firefox, the same situation, but than it could happed that other sites are problems, etc.

Hi Vlada011, since the release of Firefox 13 + Flash 11.3, some problems have occurred with sites that use Flash cookies for session storage. I haven't followed that wrinkle in detail, but have you noticed any other Flash issues?

Thanks for your answer jscher.

Well, if that can count, I've noticed that youtube have the problem in streaming videos from a month ago for example. It's mostly impossible to watch the video on youtube without chopping the video etc.

If you use the FlashBlock extension, perhaps try disabling it.

Here are the latest Flash support articles for reference: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox and Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again.

No, I am not using FlashBlock.

Just wondering, because I am mostly logged off from google and videobin.org, because they are most precious for me, how could I know if they are using flash cookies for session storage?

Maybe I'll try downgrading flash to version 11.2 . Just to try.

Thanks jscher for these new informations.

If you can't get Flash 11.3 to work and need to revert to Flash 11.2 then you can download the Flash 11.2 player via this direct link:

Thanks guys again. Just to inform, it seems that reverting to flash 10 solved the problem on my windows XP. :D Also youtube is playing smoothly when reverting to flash 10.

It's really interesting that on computer where I have Ubuntu linux, everything is ok, no matter I have there also firefox 13 and flash 11.3 ;)
