For some reason when I log in to Twitter with Firefox ads always load in my sidebar and Twitter feed but if I log in to Twitter with Internet Explorer ads never load. What do I need to change in my Firefox settings to make these ads go away? My Pop-up Blocker has already been enabled. Also, when I open a new tab the Babylon search engine always loads instead of Yahoo (my homepage). I have my options set to always load my homepage when I load Firefox. I didn't see any options to choose what loads when I open a new tab. How can I change a new tab from loading Babylon so that it will load my homepage?

Thanks in advance.

okay so I didn't really feel like scanning my computer all night long, seeing as how I still have homework to do. so I figured I would just try uninstalling and reinstalling the browser and that seems to have fixed both the problems. no more ads on Twitter and no more Babylon. Thanks anyway though.

Hello lilsis3421.

Have you tried the Ad Blocker Add-on? It has eliminated all ads on the website i visit.

To install this add-on, open the orange Firefox button and click 'Add-ons'. on the add-ons page, search 'Adblock Plus' in the search bar at the top right. Or you can visit this page

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/developers?src=api

As for your homepage, depending on which version of Firefox you have, you should either have a blank page or a speed dial. Are you sure you have your homepage set to Yahoo! in settings?

See these about Babylon:

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

there was no need to un install firefox.... it is an add on in firefox called videofiledownload...from www.facetheme.com i have not found a way to un install as yet however you can disable which works. click on firefox tab and then add ons tab....then click on extentions tab and you should see the add on video file download....download youtube videos etc etc etc.....just simply click on the disable tab on this extention and bobs ya uncle no more annoying adds all over face book. i would assume as it happens on chrome browser also that you can also disable add ons however not having chrome i would not know :) hope that helps

thanks anyway but it's kinda late now. i reinstalled it like a week or two ago (whenever i posted the solution) and it worked. haven't had any trouble since then and twitter was the only site like that but now its fine so no need for messing with add-ons.
