The Next and Prev buttons require JavaScript. If you are using NoScript or another filter on scripts, make sure to allow both nih.gov and pubmed.gov.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
Same problem here but for me the "Search" button doesn't work (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed). Did what jscher2000 rec'd and still no go.
However, the search button works fine on http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/guide
Problem still exists on Pubmed with Add-Ons disabled (Safe Mode).
The search function works fine on Chrome & Opera.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi bobol, does the page refresh/reload when you click the Search button, or just nothing happens?
Does the Advanced search page Search button work? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/advanced
No refresh/no reload and the advanced search doesn't work either.
However the advanced search did work infrequently the other day after disable javascript/clear cache/f5/enable javascript/f5 - the search button would work for 1 query and then stop. But as of 2 days ago even the workaround isn't functioning.
Any idea why the Search button works on Guide page but not the Pubmed page?
Thanks,
Bob
The scripts on those two pages are different, but a little too complicated for me to spot the issue. As another workaround, I suppose you could edit the query in the URL bar and press Enter to load the new results. But it shouldn't be necessary...
Hi, I have exactly the same problem as the original post. I am using firefox 14.0.1 on both linux (fedora 17) and XP (guest system running on linux host) and firefox fails to use the "next page" buttom on Pubmed webpage in both enviroments. The problem still persist after trying to delete firefox's cache and cookies. Safe mode doesn't help either. Since pubmed is essential for me, please help and thanks in advance.
T.C. Was going to suggest changing the Pubmed display settings only to find that they don't work either.
http://arrowsmith.psych.uic.edu/cgi-bin/arrowsmith_uic/AnneOTate.cgi might work in a pinch
Thanks, bobol. The link does work for me in both linux and XP. I appreciate it.
