I recently reset Firefox because it was not working well with my online textbooks for school. It still will not properly load those and now it is being weird on playing videos. It was working fine before I did the reset. If I use a site like YouTube, if you click the replay button, it will go back to the start and freeze. It refuses to play the video...

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Thank you for your post. The only one that helped was entering Firefox in safe mode. But it only works if I stay on the same screen. If I select another video, etc. anything that takes me to a different screen it starts getting goofy again. According to the Firefox report all my plugins are up to date on the computer.
