Why is Firefox prompting a download for a video player carrrying an Adware virus http://dip.clouds2r34.com Adware DOMAIQ.cl I get the prompt from www.ftubef
Every time I try to download from the site www.ftubef a prompt comes up saying from Firefox saying I need to update my browser and provides the steps to do so. When the install comes, my AVG virus program brings up a notice that the download contains the adware DOMAIQ.cl I trust Firefox software to be free of viruses and malware so I was disappointed to see this one had not been caught. Needless to say I will not be downloading the file for the video player.

Do the steps tell you to download Firefox from an official Mozilla website? If not, it sounds as though these instructions are produced by the site you mentioned, and they are intended to trick people into downloading a virus (which users believe to be a web browser update).
I suggest you follow these instructions on how to install the latest version of Firefox. I also suggest you are cautious when using this website, and scamadviser agrees (even if its judgement is heavily dependent on the countries involved as opposed to site content - McAfee's siteadvisor hasn't rated the site's content).
This is not a update notice from Mozilla or the Firefox browser. It sounds like one of the variations of the fake browser update redirects scams.
You already have Firefox 28.0 which is the current Release from mozilla.org. Note that a update prompt in Firefox is never a .exe file as Firefox is not just for Windows as they use .mar files.
