When running Firefox (both 31.0 and 32.0.3 today), within seconds to a couple of minutes I receive a message:

                                                     "Warning: Unresponsive Script"

"Shockwave Flash may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the plug-in now, or you can continue to see if the plug-in will complete." If I do nothing, flash player crashes. I have seen on the Firefox site that I am not the only one experiencing this problem. I have done everything recommended on Adobe help/support pages and forums, as well as Firefox help/support, to no avail. The problem has been intermittent for many months, but just started freezing up Firefox today. I am at a loss.

Hello,

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings? (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

If that doesn't help try disabling some extensions. Let us know if you find out what is causing it!

As I said, I tried everything suggested on Adobe support pages. This was one of them, but thanks for the effort. I have restarted FF with add-ons disabled and subsequently made sure that extensions were disabled - didn't help.
