New tabs keep opening in new pages instead
When I right click on a link and select open link in new tab, the link opens in a new page instead. How do I stop this?

What do you mean with a new page as opposed to a new tab? Is that a new window?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
