selecting email addy off list no longer works in new release; picks wrong one

Thunderbird 31.3.0: When i start to tye an email addy (suring sending) and select one off the list that comes up, it puts in the wrong one (ie: not the one I selected). Also noticed fields like to and subject that normall are white boxes when writing an email come up grey until you click on them. This just started after an update today.

This sounds like a bug reported. The bug seems to occur if you use the Enter or TAB keys, but not if you use the mouse pointer to move to new line OR use the 'Contacts sidebar' to add contacts. See bug:

This is the normal new look probably designed by someone with youthful vigour and not much experience. Why anyone would design those text input fields to look like they are disabled is beyond reason. But in true Thunderbird style you can modify it...yehar :)
