Can I sync bookmarks to the same computer after it has been reset?
I have a laptop which recently had to be reset to factory defaults, and I can access the bookmarks from before it crashed through firefox on my phone. However, I can't get them to sync to the new instal of Firefox on my laptop now that it has been reset. If I try to synchronize it, I get the bookmarks from a desktop I have used sync on once as a demonstration.
Is there any way to access the bookmarks from before the crash, other than through my phone?

Sounds like you're using the wrong Firefox account?
Make sure that you use the same Sync account on both computers. Also make sure to use a recent Firefox version.
Firefox 29 and later versions use a new Sync version that use a Firefox account and only require to enter the name and password and you no longer need to enter a Sync (recovery) key (the Sync key is automatically generated from the password of the Firefox account).
Thank you all. It wasn't the wrong account, I had changed my password and not updated my phone - it synced fine once I did that. Sorry for wasting your time!
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
