Firefox crashes
Firefox is crashing on startup. I have tried reinstalling Firefox from both a stub and a clean install. I keep getting the error "the application did not identify itself" and the crash reporter is unable to report it. I don't know what to do now.. can someone help?
The crash ID I have is: Crash ID: bp-89b7b5e9-ff21-4ea4-bda0-523582150601

Which os and which version of FF?
Sorry about that, I thought I had put that info in *embarassed* before I went to work (just got back). The original screen capture of the error is included now - I hope - it didn't load this morning for some reason.
I am on Win 7 (Home) and I am using the latest version (38.0.5) of Firefox which updated only several days ago.
It happened a few days ago and I reinstalled it. It worked for a few days but then this morning it crashed again which prompted me to ask the question.
Just got back and it seems to be working again - how long for, I don't know. I am more confused than ever! (I am not exactly a computer wiz...)

Try to set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.
Make sure that all plugins are updated to the latest version.
Thanks Cor-el, I have checked that and as many of the plugins are marked "Ask to Activate" as will allow.
A couple of them only allow "Always Activate" or "Never Activate" (OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. 1.4 & Primetime Content Decryption Module provided by Adobe Systems, Incorporated).
At the moment everything SEEMS to be working OK but this also happened a few days ago (and I reinstalled Firefox which seemed to fix the problem for a few days)
Thanks Fred, I will try some of the things in the articles to see if it avoids the problem.
