I've been using thunderbird for 2 years without a problem, I'm using it with 1 gmail and 2 outlook accounts with IMAP. I'm using it on 2 laptop and have the same problem on both since this morning using Thunderbird version`38.5.1 My problem is 1 outlook account is working perfectly and not the other. Also I didn't change anything in the one not working

All the folder of the outlook account disappear except the inbox and the trash folder. I went to my outlook account online and all the folders are there. I try to subscribe to them in Thunderbird, but it's not working... I can see all of them but when I subscribe to them, nothing happen.

If I sent an email... the sent mail folder will appear and worked, but when I close Thunderbird and reopen it again,,the sent folder has disappear again . Same thing happen if I save the message in the draft folder.

I deleted my outlook account and put it back again, still the same problem

I can't get those folders to reappear

There have been alot of similar cases with outlook/hotmail/office365 , so something is clearly going on.

Please try this to see if you can subscribe / show in folder pane again.

'tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Server Settings' for the mail account or Right clickon mail account name in Fodler Pane and select 'Settings' select 'Server Settings' for the mail account click on 'Advanced' button uncheck: 'Show only subscribed folders'. clickon OK click on OK

then try to subscribe again. Right click on mail account and select 'Subscribe' See if this time you can select the folder. click on OK

Have you turned you computer and internet modem off for 2 minutes and turned them back on. If it is a laptop pull the battery out.

Did it and have the same problem I read on different forum that a lot of people have the same problem. Maybe going to an earlier version would solve this problem

I've created a bug report, asking for this to be checked out.

As this is not actually affecting me - I don't have outlook/hotmail/office365 mail account, then it would be helpful if you could offer information for the bugzilla people. Please tell them : what OS you use. what version of thunderbird. What server you are trying to connect to subscribe folders. state what folders disappeared. state whether you could see folders in the 'subscribe' window etc you would need to register/logon to post comment. It would also be usefult to 'Vote' for the bug. Voting is located in the top section where it says: Importance: (vote)

just to keep you informed on situation, It would appear that Microsoft released a bad update to their office365 / outlook.com servers which broke IMAP folders. Microsoft are working on the issue and promise to remediate the situation. http://www.o365dash.com/

Similar problem starting 38.6.0, immediately after updating today. I had several subfolders under my main account. They no longer appear. Instead, all of the messages are lumped together in my Inbox.

The subfolders are visible in my profile (Mail\pop.1and1.com\Aspenhof.sbd\archive.sbd, Mail\pop.1and1.com\Aspenhof.sbd\Group.mozmsgs, Mail\pop.1and1.com\Aspenhof.sbd\Karel.mozmsgs, etc.)

The messages are visible in those folders. But when Thunderbird opens they are all lumped in "Inbox."

What shall I do? Thank you!

Hi Dan in St Louis Your issue is regarding pop not imap and so is completely different to the question asked by the OP.

Ideally this is one of occasions when it would be better to have this in a new question.

Could you create this as a new question, otherwise the OP will get loads of emails as well and it will not relate to them causing confusion. When you post a question in another question, only the original postee and anyone following will see it. A new question will attract attention from a wider group of people.

Curiously, the image you supplied does not show any mbox files that would be displayed as folders in your Folder Pane.

Could you post that image again in the new question and also post a second image showing the remainder of files and folders in Mail\pop.1and1.com as there are clearly more listed below 'Thomas.sbd'.

Include answers to these queries. Are you using Windows OS or MAC OS ? If MAC, does it use Spotlight Integration component ?

Please do not respond in this question.
