Last Fri. firefox disappeared off my computer??
Last Fri. I turned on the computer, clicked on firefox, and it brought up my yahoo homepage but yahoo was only a box in the middle of the screen. I managed to get to my email and facebook full screen. The next time I turned it on no firefox. My son said to use IE, what a mess. I am writing this on my wifes laptop. I checked my laptop and got your email. I will try and answer from there.

Did you open the computers Programs Folder? Are there any Mozilla or Firefox folders? Did you get any error messages?
Using another computer, Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} onto a thumb drive. After, plug the thumb into your system.
Looked in programs folder. There is Moz. firefox 43.0 and Moz. mainenance service. There was no error message. I suspected a virus, had webroot do a scan, it was o.k. I was going to download a firefox browser from a website, there was some sort of message at the bottom and I decided not to. I will have to get a thumb drive tomorrow and try that. Thanks.

What message?
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
I will try and update this now. I was going to download the malware scanner and that warning message showed up again, it said "this type of file may harm your computer, mbam-setup 2,2.0.102." I clicked on discard. I looked in the downloads folder and there was this and a bunch of other junk that wasn't anything that was mine! I trashed everything in the downloads folder. I am using IE as a browser and yahoo as my home page. I would rather have firefox as my browser. I have no idea what to do now, please let me know, Thanks.
