the bookmarks side bar keeps opening and closing by its self, I have run safe mode, disabled every thing, run virus scans, cussed at it, laughed at it and screamed at it, all to no avail.

I am running Windows 10 

AMD FX 4100 Quad- Core 3.6 GHZ

8.00 GB ram 64-bit ops, x 64 x based processor

and I have just updated to the latest version of Firefox 45

The shortcut key for the bookmarks sidebar is Ctrl+B, so make sure that you do not press this key combination.

Create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
