All open tabs were Synced but I cannot retrieve them and Firefox has overriden and Synced to my current browser which has no tabs. How do I retrieve them?

I always have had my open tabs, bookmarks, history etc Synced. A few days back, my Macbook Pro had a serious hanging problem and on one occasion, Firefox froze before I could restore tabs from the previous session (the about:sessionrestore page).

When I open my Firefox now, it's an empty browser, there are no tabs in Restore Session and Firefox has Synced and overriden the data with this new empty browser. I still have my bookmarks and history but all my open tabs are gone.

I've been to my Firefox profile folder but there isn't any sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak file, and the previous.js and recovery.j files are timestamped today rather than the day when my Macbook crashed. I didn't make a copy of my Firefox profile folder before my Macbook crashed.

Is there any way to get back the tabs? I had quite a number of them open with saved information (have to admit I was a bit of a tab hoarder). Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes".

do not clear the Browsing History Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-recent-browsing-search-and-download-history Does Firefox update the recover files in the sessionstore-backups folder and create a sessionstore.js file when you close Firefox?

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
