When i go to Fox news another web site with virus pops up
When I go to info Fox News, another account that says Fox comes up first. I have twice clicked by accident and both times a screen says a virus has been introduced to capture all computer entry and sent worldwide. It gives a number to call to pay for release. I shut down, bring back up, and then run security without finding anything. This could be, or maybe is, a great problem. The site is listed as link hidden by moderator

Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.
You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Hi Foxgrapes. I understand how unsettling that can be. Sounds like it may have been an malicious advertisement attempting to extort money and sounds easy enough to block. Good on you for the actions taken thus far. Below are some suggestions to help prevent that from happening in the future.
Suggestion #1: Make sure Firefox's pop-up blocker is enabled
Suggestion #2: Install the AdBlock Plus add-on
Try visiting the website again and see if the message appears. Let us know if this solves your issue, or if you require further assistance.
Side Note: I see you're running an older version of Firefox. It's good practice to make sure Firefox is up-to-date to avoid potential security threats.
