Lost bookmarks when computer reset
I recently had to reset my Windows 10 PC. I chose the option to keep my files through the reset, but apps and settings were removed. Firefox, along with many saved bookmarks, was gone. I reinstalled Firefox and created a Sync profile when prompted upon browser startup (I don't think I had ever done this before). Unfortunately, my bookmarks did not repopulate into the new version of Firefox on the reset PC and do not appear to be in the file folder for bookmark backups. I am wondering if there's any way to recover them.

Hi
Thank you for your question about the Firefox Sync service.
It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.
If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.
If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.
Thanks. I was not knowingly using anything as a backup service for Firefox bookmarks; however, I am hoping there may be still be an automatic backup of my bookmarks somewhere on my computer since my documents were not deleted.
Unfortunately, when I go to the article you linked and the page "Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer" and follow the steps to attempt to restore bookmarks from backups, no previous imports show up in the Restore menu. is there anywhere else in my files that automatic backups might be saved?
