How can can't find profile error be fixed in 57? the published fixes do not work.

With version 57 the profile is there an available. Made a new profile and it's there, but profile message continues to appear on screen changes. Installed version 56, same problem. Installed version 55 and the issue no longer appears but now firefox nags me about the version being old.

With version 57 the profile is there an available. Made a new profile and it's there, but profile message continues to appear on screen changes. Installed version 56, same problem. Installed version 55 and the issue no longer appears but now firefox nags me about the version being old.

Do you have non ASCII Unicode characters in the file path to the Firefox profile folder?

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder. Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data in "AppData\Roaming" (Root Directory on about:profiles).

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files in "AppData\Local" (Local Directory on about:profiles).
