Hi all,

I'm dealing with this problem for a while now, and I can't tell you if this is a Firefox bug, a Samsung bug or some bad configuration on my smartphone.

I notice that Firefox doesn't respect my "Do not disturb" setting. That means that if my phone is set to "silence" or "vibrate only", my Firefox still play all it sounds (like Facebook buttons sounds, YouTube sounds, ...). As far I can tell, it is the only app where I have this problem (all my MP3 players respect my "do not disturb" settings, for example).

Is this a real bug or there's something that I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Best regards, Marc

Hi

I should be able to help you with this.

  1. From the Android home screen, open the Settings app (typcially a cogwheel.
  2. Open Sound & Notification
  3. Select App notifications
  4. Select the app whose notifications you wish to change and change the settings as required.

I hope that this helps.

Hi Seburo,

Thanks for your reply, but I think I was not very clear.

I'm not talking about Firefox notifications, I'm talking about Firefox actual sounds, when it's open and when I'm using it.

For example, when my phone "do not disturb" mode is on, if I go to Facebook and give a like to someone, I will hear a "Blom" (the sound of the Facebook like button). If I open a YouTube video, it will play normally (with sound), as if the "do not disturb" mode was off.

On the other way, if I open the real YouTube app, no sound will be made, the same for any other app I have...

So the problem is not about Firefox notifications, it's like it's Firefox doesn't respect the "do not disturb" mode on the phone...

Just to be clear, my goal is not to mute Firefox completely, I still want to have Facebook sounds and stuff, but not when my device is in "do not disturb" mode... ;)
