I have recently started using Firefox Lockwise with a master password and I am syncinc them with Firefox Sync. I am strongly considering switching to another service, becaues Firefox keeps asking for my master password on startup (because it tries to sync the encrypted passwords). This happens on Windows and Linux.

I have already tried to follow the steps from

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/986220

I have also read answers that suggested installing an addon or disconnecting from sync, but I wouldn't consider these proper solutions for this rather simple feature.

Does anyone know about some preference key that I have missed? Thank you!

This isn't really true: because Firefox keeps asking for my master password on startup (because it tries to sync the encrypted passwords) The reason Firefox asks for the Primary Password is that the credentials to connect to Sync are stored in the Password Manager as an entry that is hidden from Lockwise (you should see a chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in logins.json).

I'm not aware of a way to only allow to sync manually in current releases and I'm not sure whether disconnecting and reconnecting is a good way to achieve this.

Oops, I must have misunderstood that at some point.

Thank you! I might file a feature request on bugzilla unless someone finds a way in the next couple of days :)
