lost bookmarks with update

Firefox recently updated automatically and when i went into the browser all my bookmarks are gone. i have tried restoring them from the most recent back up and they still don't load. i searched the blogs and go thru the troubleshooting options with no luck. this is very frustrating as i had tons of sites i don't visit often saved in the bookmarks which are not gone.

any assistance or guidance on how to get these back is appreciated.

Hey @jpatrick001,

This is from the support team. Can you try and confirm if you are able to add new bookmarks on the updated version of Firefox. This will help us understand to rule out the bookmarks issue where we work with new bookmarks and helps us concentrate only on troubleshooting backup-restore part. Please confirm the behavior on the updated Firefox version and your findings in this thread.
