Humble request to go back to pre-78.11.0 design for adding email recipients. Or provide an explanation for the user-interface change. It is not obvious. There is no mention on the support FAQs. It took several minutes of screwing around to find out how to add more addressees, and change the "to", "cc", etc. for each.

Thanks in advance, John Kwasnik

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/addressing-email

The current method might be improved, but I doubt it will return to the pre-78 style.

As I said, I stumbled around and found out how to do it. And the new design does make sense, now that I understand how to use it.

But it shouldn't be so hard. Maybe a little hint when I first open it after the upgrade? Maybe a little something when I first look at the support landing page? Got it that a knowledge base article exists ... now; too late. I entered this query: "Thunderbird 78.11.0 how to add recipients" and come up with 0 results. So hopefully this explains my frustration.

perhaps try asking how to address mail.

Hi John, When upgrading to version 78, you should be taken to the page New in Thunderbird 78.0. Was that page not loaded when you upgraded?

OS is Linux Mint 19.1 The upgrade was part of a bunch when I ran Mint Update 5.4.7 as the admin account. After the upgrade, I logged off and logged on to my user account. I only use Thunderbird in my user account, and there wasn't any message when I opened it. Firefox updated, too. It did have a "what's new" when I opened that, however.
