Thunderbird 91.7.0: Some messages not being displayed INBOX while other folder unaffected
Having a problem with messages received in INBOX more than 4 days ago. 1. Office janitorial may have dusted the keyboard but everything seems to work properly. This seems to be an event that is coincident with the problem. Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem, just thought that if a series of keyboard key strokes may have done something with settings. 2. Emails from 4 days ago and prior are listed in the INBOX, displays information in the FROM-SUBJECT-DATE-SIZE columns. Info in the SIZE column indicated there is data associated with the email, including attachments. 3. Clicking on older emails does not allow body text to be displayed, problem is only in the INBOX. 4. If I click on a recent email (from today) that has body text that can be displayed, then move to one of the emails that has body text that can't be seen, the fields FROM/SUBJECT & TO seem to contain the information from the previous email that was readable. It will not load the information from the older email. 5. If I then click on another recent email (also from today) that has body text that can be displayed, then move to one of the emails that has body text that can't be seen, the fields FROM/SUBJECT/To again contain the information from the previous email that was readable. 6. Email that is in other folders are not affected. 7. It seems that even though the older emails are visible in the INBOX, and can be clicked-on, the program will not open the file as though it is not there.
Thanks,
Ken

My guess is it is not there. It sounds like an anti virus quarantined your old inbox, resulting in a display list that is corrupt.
Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button. That will rebuild the index, and my guess is display new mail and all mail will no longer be shown.
I suggest you look for automatically fixed email or file issues by your anti virus product.
