Firefox frequently crashes on any page, maybe because of plugin-container.exe

Firefox seems to be randomly crashing with no regard to what page I view. It can be anything from a Google results page to a page with multimedia playing. Every time, I get the same crash report, but I don't know how to fix the problem. To my knowledge, I have removed all unnecessary plug-ins and add-ons.

Firefox has also been running unusually slow and often freezes on web pages for several minutes. I have FF set to clear all my browsing data when I close it.

You don't have Firefox 3.0.5 installed, your UserAgent is messed up, Gecko rv:1.9.1.5 is part of Firefox 3.5.5 . The Plugin Container wasn't added to Firefox until version 3.6.4, so that's not your problem. --- Fix your UserAgent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page. Filter = general.useragent. Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset, Then restart Firefox. --- For that crash, it might be caused by one of your extensions. Or you can troubleshoot it yourself. Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

From what I've tested in your reply, it seems that the source of my problem is one of my plug-ins. I'm going to have to troubleshoot for that. But before that, I know I typically install many plug-ins for the sake of viewing content on a website I will only visit once or twice, so right now I feel the best thing to do would be to uninstall all of my plug-ins and the reinstall them as they become necessary to accommodate my browsing patterns. Would that be either safe or possible?
