How can I stop 11 windows opening at startup?
Each time I start the beta version (updated 3/20/11) it opens 11 windows in total. Only the first has content, the others are blank. In addition, the tabs open when I closed Firefox are not reopened. Also, toolbar changes are lost. I have reinstalled without any change in behavior. Is there something that should be deleted that is not deleted during an uninstall that would solve this problem?

This can be a problem with the file sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder
Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Problem solved. Thank you!
You're welcome
Problem not solved after all. The problem came back and I cannot keep deleting sessionstore and redoing my apptabs and customizaions. My settings are right and I did not have a second window open (as discussed in another thread) - although I did previously. But at the time I closed the application, only the one window was open WITH the app tabs and customizations. This is a flat out bug and a very inconvenient and irritating one. Hope it is fixed soon. Firefox 4, Win XP Pro SP3
I had the same problem. I reopened FF with all the add-ons disabled and reset the user data when it reopened. I have minimal add-ons running now: Aniweather, Google Shortcuts, and AdblockPlus. I also had to update my plugins - Flash particularly. I also do not have all the plug-ins running either. So far, I don't have the problem anymore. I'm going to start enabling the plugins one at a time and then the add-ons to see when the problem returns.
Hope this helps someone else!
Please post which plug-in is the culprit IF a plugin is the culprit. I have my doubts. I later theorized that it was because I was moving buttons from the Google toolbar onto the navigation tool bar and maybe that wasn't kosher. But I deleted all the .js files to get back to normal and did NOT move buttons off the Google toolbar and the problem still came back. Very irritating.
I have been also having this trouble since v5. There is no pattern as to what triggers this. I have uninstalled, disabled and even uninstalled all addons before restoring one by one and testing. But still no indication as to why or how to resolve this. Would appreciate any ideas please.
