for some reason when I click on + to open a new tab it wont open.... it just started doing this ...I have gone into tools/tabs options and nothing has been changed by me

  1. Go to Tools, Addons, Extensions,
  2. select Ask Toolbar,
  3. click uninstall or disable,
  4. restart Firefox.

Please let us know whether that solves the issue.

Hello, I am having the same problem however I do NOT have "ask toolbar" and yes I have searched over and over again. But I still can not open a new tab, any help?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
