Where did the close tab X go?
I upgraded today to Firefox 5.0 and when I did the X on each tab to close that tab went away. I thought it might be one of my add-on's and i restarted in safe mode with all add-on's disabled and it was still the same. I know in the preview of firefox 5.0 that each tab should have an X on it because that's how the picture showed it, but nothing i'm doing is changing it. So every tab I want to close I have to right click on it and select "close tab" which is extremely annoying because I open and close a lot of tabs.
I searched around the firefox help forums and on google to see if anyone has posted anything about this, but I can't seem to find any help. I'm trying to avoid uninstalling 5.0 and reinstalling 4.0 and readding all my add-on's because it's very tedious and time consuming. I've already spent enough time trying to figure out how to get the close tab X back. (I thought it was one of my addon's called Colorful tabs because I had read something about a problem with that addon and i uninstalled it, but it didn't change anything. the troubleshooting info below doesn't have colorful tabs in it)

within about:config you should be able to find a property called, "browser.tabs.tabClipWidth". This sets the minimum width of a tab in pixels at which the "x" is supposed to disappear. The "x" is 16 pixels wide (so sayeth somewhere) and when I set this value to 16, my "x"s came back!
You can middle-click a tab with the mouse scroll wheel to close that tab.
Did you try Save mode to be sure that it is not caused by an extension or theme?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
