I have lost the awesome bar and other things I requested. Where has it gone?

I had an orange tab on the upper left of my screen that I clicked and could get my awesome bar, bookmarks, cut, paste, print buttons and google. They have all disappeared and I cannot go back, there is no back button, nothing. I upgraded just now to Firefox 5 but it made no difference: the orange tab had gone. How do I get the orange tab back and all the other things?

Click view, toolbars and uncheck menu bar. The menu bar will disappear and the orange tab will appear. If you want the menu bar back, click the orange firefox tab, go to options and check the menu bar and it will reappear.

I have nothing that says 'view' or 'toolbars' I have a firefox button which has nothing about toolbars under it - please help
