Updated to 3.6.24 then 8.0 then system restore resulting in version conflicts.
I updated t0 3.6.24 and created a restore point. Updated to 8.0 and had add-on issues and couldn't correct so I did restore to before 8.0 update and assumed I would be at 3.6.24. Still had add-on issues so I restored to previous day. If I checked Trouble Shooting in the Help tab. It says version 3.6.23. When I go to about it says 3.6.24. How do I figure out the correct version. I want to go back to 3.6.23 because 3.6.24 screwed up my add-ons and 8.0 screwed up my old PC. I am running WinXP SP2 with 4G memory and 3.8Mhtz.

If you want to downgrade to 3.6.23 then make a backup of your browser profile {http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder} even though the downgrade procedure leaves your profile untouched. Download Firefox 3.6.23 from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.23/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%203.6.23.exe
No need to uninstall Firefox before you downgrade, just hit the Firefox 3.6.23 setup file to install.

Thank you xr417. Backed up profile and bookmarks. d/l and ran setup for 3.6.23 successfully. It was fun trying to remember all my settings. I finally straightened that out. I had to install addons however they are functioning again, even if I had to install old versions. Hope I don't run into other ghosts. ;)
