the computer sidebar on the left for folders has headings that are scrambled and i cannot seem to move them. also my emails come and go to my iphone just fine and my son can also send emails for me from his computer just fine

Another reason could be that websites constantly add or upgrade features, so the browser would also have to be updated to the newest version to support those changes / features.
