Why do i keep getting the msg unresponsive script Script: chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:1628 it would be helpful if I knew what this was
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Firefox 9.0.1 and at the time of the problem I was using Facebook. This problem makes it impossible to close any open tabs (though you can open as many new ones as you care to) and Firefox becomes unresponsive for a short time. When you close Firefox, it thinks that one more tab is open than in reality there is.

Hi,
Please check if this happens in Safe Mode.

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee when this problem is going to occur, if it does not happen in "safe mode" it does not necessarily mean that it is not going to happen, only that the circumstances are not the same. However I will try it, and thanks for the reply.
Actually Safe Mode should be used only as a temporary step. Safe Mode may sometimes help to isolate the cause. By default Safe Mode disables all the extra Extensions, themes (Appearance) and Plugins in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons.
Well, I've been operating for a couple of hours now and nothing untoward has happened safe mode.
It may mean that an extension or plugin may be the cause. Now you have to isolate it by enabling / disabling them. If you have many extensions and plugins you can try enabling one half of the extensions in one go and check. If the problem appears you know it is in this half, otherwise in the other half....
Nothing happens with any of the plug ins/extensions enabled individually, only when all are enabled. I did wonder if it may be caused by Flash Player as thbis is the only thing that is different when the problem appears. I've made sure I have the latest version installed but this does not appear to make any difference.
It could be that there is a conflict between two of the installed extensions. You may have to narrow down the conflict by trial and error. Enabling one half of the extensions and then enabling a half from the other disabled half to add to the already enabled half may help to quickly narrow down the conflicting extensions.
Please see this.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
