automatic install of last update forgot all my open tabs
Firefox just ran an automatic update. When it restarted it forgot all my open tabs. I didn't get the usual "Restore Last Session" tab that allows me to reopen all my previous tabs.
So, I just lost hours of researching and searches. Is there any way to get those previous tabs? Is there a way to reverse the update to get back to the previous version of Firefox and get those tabs back?
This has happened before and it is very frustrating. My brother recommended I start using Chrome because it has a setting to always open the last open tabs.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can check the Firefox Profile Folder to see if there are any files sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number present.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see any with a date and time of around that update/restart then try to rename the file to sessionstore.js to see if that brings back the session.

To get the "pro"-previous tab open, no. To find it and open it again(if you have not select to delete browsing history when closing firefox) yes, click Ctrl+Shift+H in keyboard (Cmd+Shift+H on Mac) to open LIBRARY menu click HISTORY and select the browsing day.

thank you

Some of the tabs I've had open for days and even a couple weeks. Going through all that history to find the pages lost would be very difficult. I usually leave Firefox open and put my system to sleep or hibernate. Is there really no way to recover the tabs that were open before the update this morning?

Thanks very much for both of your suggestions.
ideato - I will make use of this suggestion in the future. I didn't know about it and think it will save me headaches in the future.
cor-el - Thanks for the links and the info about that script. I didn't find anything concurrent with the update, so I'm out of luck there. I did find one from a couple days ago and that should help some.
