My every attempt to open the LA Times website causes a crash of the entire Firefox browser, even if I have more than one Firefox browser open. There are no crash ID's b/c it just closes, completely.

Hey rsgreen,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article.

Hopefully this helps!

I tried that. No joy. Same thing happened again.

Does Firefox still crash if you disable all plugins as a test?

I disabled all plug-ins. Same thing.

I have the same problem. Firefox 11.0 crashes when loading latimes.com. Running on Mac OS X 10.6.8

When I loaded it in safe mode it returns the following error as it crashes:

Error occurred during initialization of VM java/lang/ClassNotFoundException: error in opening JAR file <invalid CEN header (bad signature)> /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Classes/classes.jar

I'm running Java Plugin version 1.6.0.29 (the most recent).
