Recently Firefox is no longer recognizing Macro Express macros, and the up and down arrows no longer work as they should.

The Macro Express works in all other browsers (and programs), but no longer works in Firefox.

The up arrow and down arrow works in all other browsers, but in Firefox, instead of moving down (or up) a line at a time, the page moves way, way down (or up). The Page Up and Page Down buttons work only part of the time... if a down arrow (or up arrow) was used, the Page arrows move the page but not one page up or down...many pages up or down.

If I need to change back to an earlier version of Firefox, I will do this. Please tell me how to make things work the way they should work.

Working again in Thunderbird too. I didn't do anything to fix it on my machine. This was weird.

You may have switched on caret browsing.

You can press press F7 (on Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Accessibility: [ ] "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages"

This worked for the scrolling problem.

However, the Macro Express is still not working in Firefox (although it does work with other browsers).

Thanks.

Macro Express is still busted. A simple macro that uses a single "/" to do a ctrl-C does not work. Hot key sequences, like "~~pw" to type a password don't work either. The key strokes get through as though ME was not running. It is also broken in Thunderbird.

Even though the scrolling problem was resolved (which is a big relief), the problem with Macro Express not working is still not resolved.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Not sure why, but Macro Express is working again.

Thanks for all the help!!

Makes you wonder if it was something that Macro Express did or something that Mozilla did that solved the problem...?? Hmmmm....

I've got an old version of Macro Express that does not get updates, unless something magical is happening :) Maybe Windy-Ohs was the culprit?
