Telstra Australia tell me that I have to use Chrome as their facilities will not work with Firefox. Why?
After spending literally hours trying to pay an account on Telstra Australia (I've only just joined them, so it is the first payment), I finally gave up and contacted them directly. I was told that Telstra services will not work with Firefox and that their preferred system is Google Chrome but Internet Explorer will work. I have used Firefox for a long time and am happy with the programme. More to the point, I have everything set up to work with Firefox and have no wish to change. At the same time, I want to have the convenience of bill-paying online. Can I load up, say, Google just for that one thing or is the programme then going to try and 'take over' other functions as well?

Yes you can install Chrome and use it for that one website. As far as Chrome "taking over" other functions on your PC, just don't let it set itself as the "default browser" if you are asked during the installation routine. Beyond that I doubt if you will have a problem.

Thanks very much for that. I don't claim to be super-smart around PC's so just wanted to be sure that I wasn't going to screw up my present settings!
