I opened a spam that was sent through a friend's email and since then my yahoo mail is slow. When I use firefox in safe mode the problem goes away but disabling all of the addons does not fix the problem. I cleared cache and everything I know but it does not help. I have another Yahoo mail that I can access and use with no problem only the one that got spammed I have problem with. Apparently Firefox in safe mode does more than just disabling addons.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
