I've been trying to log on to my employer's servers using a userid and password they have provided. They are happy that all is well at their end, but I get the message 'Your system policy has denied access to the requested URL' whenever I try to log on.

I've tried using IE9 and I'm using Firefox 18.0. I've got Norton 360 installed but I'll be honest, I'm no techy wizz so having read some other stuff in other forums I'm at a loss as to what to try. Obviously I don't want to leave my firewall open, but need to be able to log on to the systems at work.

My partner can log on to her workplace from home without problems, but she has had to download some Juniper 'stuff'...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Contact your work's IT department, they help you set up your computer for remote access

Sorry, should have said that I've spent most of the afternoon talking to them, but they say that all is well at their end and I need to sort out what's wrong here. No help at all I know. Really frustrating.

Well that sounds like an issue with either your user account on their servers, or some other error (perhaps you need a certificate or something on your PC). Since it's happening in IE as well it's not a Firefox problem. Chase down someone else in the IT department.

hello, in case you're accessing the work related website through a proxy, please see if the update to firefox 18.0.1 can address the issue (since it contains a few proxy related bug fixes).

Tylerdowner - thank you - I think that's probably the best thing to do. And you're probably right about needing some sort of certificate. Certainly need to talk to someone else in the IT department! Thanks

Madperson - When I check, it says Firefox is up to date at 18.0 and that I'm on the release update channel, but I don't know what that means...

firefox 18.0.1 is currently just in the process of being released. maybe check again in a few hours in firefox > help > about firefox... to obtain the update
