Download helper does not appear on any toolbar. How do you get it there?
I am using Firefox 22. I use to have download helper on my navigation toolbar but it does not appear now. I tried customizing the toolbar but download helper does not appear in the customize box. Does it not work with Firefox anymore?

have you reinstalled it and referred to
Are you using the latest version of the VDH extension?
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.
- Firefox menu button > Options
- View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
- Right-click empty toolbar area
Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
- if missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
You can also check for other extensions interfering.
The first thing I did was uninstall and reinstall and even downloaded the latest version from VDL. The tool bars are shown but the customize block does not contain VDL. In fact it only contained one add-on. Using the restore default does not help either. Any other thoughts? I remember reading that the VDL was not compatible with the latest version of Firefox but I don't always believe everything I read on the internet.
The funny thing is that the VDL display on the tool bar does show up on another computer I own which is using Firefox 22 also. Perhaps there is some setting somewhere.
try deleting your localstore.rdf file
Well I don't know what happened. I did nothing more and all of a sudden all my add-ons appeared on the previously blank add-on tool bar. So I am good to go. Thanks for the suggestions.
