Last week I noticed some changes in the browser. For example, if I typed in "ESPN" in the URL address field, Firefox would auto-fill the address based on my past history. That is, if I typed, "banko", Firefox would fill in with, "bankofamerica.com". Also, the "drop down" history arrow (next to the refresh button) used to actually drop down and show my 15 - 20 most visited sites. Now it does nothing. And, last but not least, when I click on the "open a new tab button" I get taken to search.conduit.com. I used to get a "blank" page with a tile of nine web pages that I have visited recently. What has happened?

The word "conduit" reminded me strongly of my FX getting hijacked by an unwanted search&c replacement. See the followiing for starters:

Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page

If this does not retire the unwanted guest to your full satisfaction, come back with more details.
