more options

when checking email then switch to another ff locks up and on top it says ff "NOT RESPONDING" Then it turns almost white. Sometimes it will flash brightly and then start working, sometimes needs to restart. This all started when ff updated itself to version26. No problem in ver 25. Writing this I am using "Ice Dragon 26, which is built from ff, but have no trouble like I do with ff and ff has been my favorite. What to do?

Yahoo! mail? Many, many users have discovered all kinds of problems and glitches with Yahoo! mail in Firefox when using an old bookmark saved before Yahoo!'s recent server changes.

I suggest clearing your Yahoo cookies and entering through the main page to get a better address for your current mail server.

To remove your Yahoo cookies -- save any pending work first -- call up the Cookies dialog while viewing any page on yahoo.com (or your Yahoo site). You can use either:

  • right-click the page > View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then go to one of these Yahoo addresses and click on login or mail from there:

Does that help?

More generally, did you try Yahoo mail in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?
