Firefox freezes for few seconds while syncing new bookmarks.
Firefox freezes for few seconds while syncing new bookmarks. Happens everytime I add a bookmark or when I change a folder's place.
Everytime I bookmark some site, firefox syncs it right away, which is good in a way. But it takes a few seconds (around 5 secs) and whil FF syncs the whole window freezes. Means nothing responds anymore, not to a click nor to a roll over or scroll.
It's quite annoying actually.
So I'd say : FireFox should run this sync in background of other tasks, seamlessly.
If FF cannot run this sync in background of other tasks, is there a way to tell sync ton only sincronize just before quitting or such ?
OR, is there a way to quickly shut sync down and activate it back up when needed ?
Thanks for the answers to this time consumming problem.

Maybe check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thank you Cor-el,
unfortunately the links you provided me with are not quite the same problem as the one I experience.
Everything's working. The sync of bookmarks is ok. BUT again everytime I add a bookmark FF freeezes during the time of the sync (which is often around 5 secs).
I also installed the add-on Places Maintenance, and everything seems to be fine.
I want to add that this problem happens on my 2008 Mac Pro and 2014 iMac either ways, and since FF version 27. I regularily update FF so I'm up to date.
