how do I get customization to work? Just a blank page
My address bar disappeared and now when I click customization all I get is a blank page. How do I get both of these back. My address bar had quit working before it disappeared.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to reset the browser.uiCustomization.state pref on the about:config page to the default value.
After you work through cor-el's answer, try a couple of check workarounds.
For customization palette, type about:customizing in the Address Bar.
For the Address Bar, I expect you'll have tried this, right click on toolbar space to see which toolbars are checked/unchecked.
