An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: #4.4.5 Too many connections to this host..

just started to get this message when trying to send email. I have checked with the ISP server and we have done test emails via their webmail without difficulty. They are stating this is a problem with the email system I am using i.e Thunderbird?

Any information on this? Have others experienced this same problem....
