Save a file to a different location as a "one off"

My scenario is that I have the "always download to default location" setting enabled, to download to the "Downloads" folder in my user profile. This works fine and is great.

However, I'd like to know if I could specify a location as a one-off here - so that in every-day use I can just hit enter/click OK on the download dialog and it saves to the default, or if I needed to I could click to save to an alternative location?

I mocked up something to show what I mean: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5758727/firefoxsuggestion.png

These are good but require you to filter using domains or filetypes. I literally want to make it so it always saves to default, except for like the one occasional time that I don't and want to specify somewhere else.

There are two extensions that I have used in the past -Save Link in Folder and Save Image in Folder - which are described in detail at the developers own website - http://mozext.achimonline.de/ - those two are hosted at the official Add-on website. But neither meets your specific requirements - as close as I can think of for an existing extension that I am aware of.

If you have programming experience it may be worth your while to open those extensions and see how he did what he did, and "translate" to your needs. No problem "copying" his work, unless you would release it as your own extension - read the licensing information in each file in the extension to see what "license" the file was released under.
