My emails now have a lot of detail in the address area such as references, message ID how to get rid of this
I have been having varying problems with Thunderbird for 24 hours. I have finally located my missing folders, but when I send and receive emails, there is a whole lot of printed stuff in the address area which seems to be ID details, in reply to, message details, mostly all figures. What is this and how can it be removed?

In the menu, View|Headers|Normal
No menu? Press and hold the <alt> button on your keyboard, tap v.
