Problem with search always telling me to load reimage_repair or other malware
I seem to have a virus. Dont know what to use to remove it. I have had reimage-repair suggested. I have just installed AVG antivirus but this has not fixed the problem. And web searches using google get hijacked as well.

Hi, you can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.
After removal you may need to reset your home page and search, which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I think that the Microsoft Safety Scanner has done the job. Thanks so much for your suggestions. it was a pain!
I tried to load the MS product yesterday, but it just hung up. Perhaps MS was overloaded with requests. However I was able to load and run this today (when USA is asleep) and the problem now seems to be solved.
