I did find this in an old issue for Firebug: "The line numbers are shown within the CSS Edit Mode, which you can enable by clicking the Source Edit / Live Edit button within the panel toolbar." from comment 30 in this thread

Not quite want I wanted. It used to show the cascade of the css statements with a line through the CSS statements which were superceded and the name of the css file where the css statements were specified.
