I can send emails perfectly, but all received emails from 13 June have no identifying details or content. I do use McAfee for virus protection on my computer, but in my add-ons list I have McAfee Security Centre disabled. I prefer Thunderbird but in desperation I did try to open Outlook in a test version on my computer. The same problem occurred. I am not super technical but need help please.

Who is your mail service provider? hotmail? charter?

You are right. The problem was with my mail service provider Telstra bigpond - an Australian provider. After many discussions with the provider, I discovered they were making changes which affected my email. It took a few days to solve. The interim solution was for me to read my emails by logging in to the Telstra webmail site and leave my emails on the Telstra server, rather than using POP3 (or is it POP1?) to download my email to my own computer. All solved now but a nightmare while it lasted.

have you had your mail "upgraded" to the new platform yet. or is that still to come?

Mail has been upgraded to a new platform in conjunction with a new modem provided by Telstra. Sadly they lost a few emails in the process - presumably changing from one server to another. Everything now works and works faster than before, but the changeover was not handled at all well.
