Netflix native support on Linux
As per the article Mozilla To Test Widevine CDM in Firefox Nightly, it states,
"Update, June 7, 2016: Support for Widevine is now available in the general Firefox release."
Widevine is now supported on the latest Firefox on Windows and OS X. How about Linux? I am currently using Ubuntu 16.04 and would like to use Widevine CDM to play Netflix on Firefox as Silverlight is not available for Linux. Am I able to do this or would I have to use Windows or OS X?

Looks like no Linux support at this time, or yet. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm#w_supported-platforms
Any news about this? I try to search about it, and what I find looks grim.
firefox 49 released support for EME in linux, so netflix should work on linux after enabling the DRM support in the options.
Yey, i'm unable to have it running... with the DRM option enable, nothing happen, netflix asks to download the windows silverlight...
Changing the firefox user-agent to chrome on linux, i get:
unexpected error (and some more trash) Error code: M7363-1260
Searching, i find no real reference if it really working or not and how to put it to work.
So have anybody manage to put netflix working in firefox with the new EME support? if yes, how?
Thanks higuita
Try user agent firefox on windows
No, didn't work. I tested all windows browsers user-agents and none worked. IE/edge game no error, but didn't load (probably trying to load silverlight directly?)
i also tested if EME was working and using this url:
https://msedgeportal.trafficmanager.net/en-us/microsoft-edge/testdrive/demos/eme/
and i was able to see at least some (but not all) of the DRM/EME protected movies. On the url
http://bitmovin.com/mpeg-dash-hls-drm-test-player/
if fails with:
DRM: License request failed with HTTP status 0:
Even stranger is if i disable DRM on this url, the video plays, where in the previous url if asks to enable DRM
anyway, right now i still do not know if the netflix not working is a netflix problem, firefox problem or my machine problem.
found the problem/solution!!
https://askubuntu.com/questions/828286/now-that-i-have-firefox-49-how-do-i-watch-netflix
I had to change the current user-agent for chrome in linux to
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.34 Safari/537.36
The add-on i used to change the user-agent was:
http://mybrowseraddon.com/useragent-switcher.html
but it seems to use a older "chrome version" that netflix do not like.
updating the Chrome version to 53, netflix started to work.
Now that i know that firefox works, time to start nagging netflix to accept firefox user-agent
