Problem first started Monday and I can't seem to fix it. See screen shot.

  Computer is running Win 7 pro 64. Firefox 47.0.1. Bitdefender Total Security 2016.
 If "Scan SSL" is enabled in Bitdefender Web Protection I will get the error most of the time when asking a search question.
 I have completely uninstalled Firefox and reloaded it and used my profile from my laptop which runs without any problems.
    Any suggestions on how to fix?
 Thanks

You likely need to install the Bitdefender root certificate if you want to have scanning of secure HTTPS connection enabled.

If the certificate is issued by security software or by a trusted (company) proxy server then you have two options:

  • install the root certificate for this security software or proxy and set trust bit(s) when prompted.
  • disable the SSL scanning feature in your security software.

If it works in other browsers like IE or Google Chrome then export the root certficate in one of those browsers and import the certificate in the Firefox Certificate Manager. When prompted, place a tick on "Trust this CA to identify websites" trust bit to make the imported certificate work as a trusted root certificate to trust websites. Note that trust bits should only be set for a trusted root certificate and never for intermediate certificates.

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Certificates: View Certificates > Authorities > Import
